
After a 150 years, South Hampstead Cricket Club and six intrepid players made history, competing in the SMASH Indoor Ada Lovelace - 2025 tournament. The clubs first Women's Team got off to a winning start against Kew Cricket Club winning by five runs.
The competition was played over four Sundays, with a total of 11 players representing the club.
Heading into the final round of matches, the team were sitting in fourth place, 0.5 points behind Shepherds Bush Cricket Club in third place. Two strong performance saw the team beat Actonians Cricket Club (and competition winners) by 21 runs and the team backed this up with a victory (by 33 runs) over Ealing Cricket Club.
The team finished with 5 wins from 8 matches.



Well done to all players that took part. This is a significant milestone for the club, which builds on our Girls Programme, providing a pathway for our juniors into open age female only cricket.
About our Women's and Girls Section:
Established in 2022, our girls programme has gone from strength to strength, with over 80 girls attending our summer and winter training, representing the club in fixture and attending our popular holiday camps.
