Safeguarding Statement – South Hampstead Cricket Club

South Hampstead Cricket Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. We provide a safe, inclusive and respectful environment where every child can enjoy cricket and develop with confidence.

We place the welfare of children at the centre of everything we do. All children have the right to participate in cricket in a setting that is safe, supportive and free from harm.

We will:

• Follow the safeguarding policies and procedures of the England and Wales Cricket Board
• Adhere fully to the ECB’s Safe Hands – Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children framework
• Appoint a trained Club Safeguarding Officer as the first point of contact for concerns
• Ensure all coaches and volunteers working with junior members hold appropriate DBS clearance
• Require relevant safeguarding and first aid training for those working with children
• Respond promptly, appropriately and confidentially to all safeguarding concerns
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across all club activity

We expect all members, volunteers, parents and players to share responsibility for safeguarding and to uphold the highest standards of behaviour.

If you have a concern about the welfare of a child at South Hampstead Cricket Club, please contact the Club's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). If a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact the police on 999.

We review our safeguarding procedures regularly to ensure they remain aligned with national guidance and best practice.
